Kelman

Three Track Album Sampler.

Christ. Why does it keep happening? I've reviewed some stinking singles recently, singles by bands who have had a few hits and can't be arsed anymore, bands that never had it in the first place but have the look that's in at the moment and then you have an unsigned band floating around like Kelman.

Kelman are a three piece from London who have already released one single (still available on the website) The Happiest Man Alive on their own label, have a new single out in April called The Heart Is A Useless Ally (track two on here) and are releasing their debut album themselves in June. Who needs signing eh?

This three tracker is a promo for the album and to give perspective promoters a feel of what they will get if they book the band live. Well as you probably don't have a copy in front of you I'll tell you. Intensely, brilliant tracks that build quietly, yet despite the fact that these lads don't shout, every song sounds massive.

My personal favourite is Some Things Never Work Out, but I also love the title of the third track on here and can relate to the theme running through the lyrics? Fucked And Far From Home.

Quite possibly the best unsigned band I've heard in the last twelve months.

Check them out for yourself when the band play the Carling Islington Academy on Saturday April 1st at the Feeling Gloomy Night, I doubt you'll be disappointed.
